The Texas Tech football team continues to clean house on the defensive coaching staff. On Tuesday it was announced that outside linebackers coach Trey Haverty has been fired from the Texas Tech coaching staff.
Haverty’s dismissal is the third firing of an assistant coach on the defensive side of the ball this week. On Monday, it was learned that defensive line coach/co-defensive coordinator Mike Smith and cornerbacks coach Kevin Curtis had also been let go by Texas Tech.
“We appreciate all that Mike, Kevin and Trey have done at Texas Tech over the last three seasons,” Kingsbury said on Tuesday.
