Texas Tech fell to the No. 16- ranked Utah Utes 73-63, in their opening game of the Puerto Rico Tipoff. The Red Raiders played the Utes close for the majority of the game, but a lackluster 15% on three-point shooting (3 of 19), allowed the Utes enough distance to pull away late in the second half.
Sophomore Guard Devaugntah Williams led Texas Tech in scoring with 13 points and senior guard Toddrick Gotcher wasn’t far behind with 12 buckets of his own. Points from the bench were scarce, but center Isaiah Manderson and forward Aaron Ross did account for 16 points combined.
