RALEIGH, N.C. — No. 8 Texas Tech advanced to its first NCAA Tournament game since 2007 but fell in the first round to No. 9 Butler 71-61.
Senior Devaugntah Williams led the Red Raiders with 18 points, followed by junior Aaron Ross and sophomore Justin Gray with 10 each.
The second half was back and forth between the two teams with no real separation between them.
Until less than 10 minutes remained on the clock.
Keenan Evans missed a jumper and Justin Gray couldn’t get the put-back to fall.
And then it was all Kelan Martin.
