The Texas Tech football program has extended a scholarship offer to the nephew of one of the greatest players in the history of Red Raider football. Ty Thomas, a 2017 safety from Lubbock’s Cooper High School and the nephew of College Football Hall of Fame member and former Texas Tech linebacker Zach Thomas is the latest defensive prospect to receive an offer from the Red Raiders.
Thomas is a 5-foot-10, 195-pound safety who is ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com. On September 16th, Thomas verbally committed to former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach and the Washington State Cougars.
