Not long after Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt decided to extend head basketball coach Chris Beard's contract, he's getting an extension of his own.
Texas Tech announced on Monday that university president Lawrence Schovanec has given Hocutt a two-year extension and an adjustment in compensation.
Hocutt's new contract includes an annual increase in compensation of $1.5 million with 3% increases each year starting on Sept. 1 and an extension to Aug. 31, 2027.
"Texas Tech University and Lubbock have become home for my family and there is not a greater place," Hocutt said.
