Texas Tech catcher Clay Koelzer to transfer

In addition to plenty of drafted players leaving this draft, one more Red Raider has announced his intentions on leaving the team. Sophomore catcher Clay Koelzer will be leaving the team and taking his talents to West Texas A&M per his Twitter page.

Koelzer was a sophomore out of Amarillo, Texas and was destined to be the starting catcher for the Red Raiders this season. He started the first series against the Maine Black Bears and had two doubles and a triple in those four games. He started a total of 17 games over the season and appeared in 24 games overall.
