Texas Tech can't overcome loss of Taylor, falls to Oklahoma State, 6-3

Texas Tech couldn’t find the right combination of pitchers.

At least not one that could replace Corey Taylor and his 0.36 ERA.

Taylor, the announced starter, was scratched minutes before the Red Raiders and Oklahoma State’s scheduled first pitch. Instead Texas Tech used five pitchers to try to hold off the Cowboys.

It didn’t work.

Oklahoma State got a pair of homers from Ryan Sluder and Gage Green and defeated the Red Raiders 6-3 on Sunday at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

“Not a good game for us today all around,” senior pitcher Dominic Moreno said.
