In what was arguably the biggest game of the season, Texas Tech baseball coach Tim Tadlock penciled in his best possible lineup card Monday against Sam Houston State in the second game of a NCAA Lubbock Regional final.
Davis Martin — who had missed a majority of the season due to tendinitis — was given the nod to start on the mound while Cody Fahat, who’s battled a lingering lower body injury, was slotted in center field to put Tanner Gardner at designated hitter.
All three moves were made to give the fifth-ranked Red Raiders their best chance to advance and looked to work well, pitching-wise, against the Bearkats.
