Texas Tech forward Niem Stevenson will finish his home career Saturday when the Red Raiders take on TCU. Though Stevenson has been on campus only two years, he’s been an important part of the Red Raider hoops program under Chris Beard.
When Beard landed Stevenson as a JUCO transfer, it was a huge component in the new head coaches attempt to infuse the roster with talent. Stevenson was a two-time JUCO all-American at Seward County Community College in Kansas.
The lanky forward was a prolific scorer on the JUCO level amassing 1,354 points in two seasons. But despite the fact that he averaged over 20 points per game in JUCO, he embraced a different role in Lubbock, making his career even more impressive.
