When the Big 12 preseason poll was released, the Kansas State Wildcats were picked to finish second behind their in-state rivals Kansas. Returning every starter from last year’s Elie 8 run, Bruce Weber’s team seemed poised for a fantastic season.
But thus far, things have not gone according to plan in Manhattan. At first glance, their 10-3 record is no cause for concern and includes wins over Power 5 opponents, Missouri and Vanderbilt.
After starting 6-0, KSU dropped back-to-back games against Marquette and Tulsa. They then ran off four more wins before dropping their Big 12 opener to Texas on Wednesday.
