It is amazing to consider just how far expectations for the Texas Tech baseball program have risen in the past five years. Thanks to Tim Tadlock guiding his program to the College World Series three times since 2014, Red Raider fans now expect nothing less than a Big 12 title and a trip to Omaha.
And this season began with as much hype as any in the Tadlock era given that the Red Raiders entered the year with a top-5 national ranking and boasting the best player in program history, Josh Jung. But inconsistency on the mound, a lack of timely hitting and some defensive woes caused the Red Raiders to get off to a frustrating start, especially in conference play.
