Texas Tech assistant coach Chris Ogden is the lead candidate to replace outgoing UT-Arlington men's basketball head coach Scott Cross, sources said, and the deal could be finalized as early as late next week.
UTA hasn't closed the deal with Ogden, sources said, but the process is far enough down the road that he's already started putting together his staff. Ogden is also expected to be in Arlington early in the week.
Ogden has already asked Trinity Valley assistant coach Hunter Jenkins to be on his UTA staff, sources said. Jenkins, who is with Ogden in San Antonio this weekend at the Final Four, served as a Texas Tech graduate assistant coach alongside Ogden during the 2016-17 season on Chris Beard's staff.
