Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock announced changes to the 2016 schedule Tuesday as the Red Raiders have added a two-game series on April 5-6 at No. 8 Florida State.
The Red Raiders were originally scheduled to face Abilene Christian next Tuesday at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland but will instead travel to Tallahassee for what will be the first ever meeting between Tech and Florida State.
In order to make room on its schedule, Tech and Abilene Christian have mutually agreed to reschedule their neutral-site contest for April 27 in Midland.
“We appreciate the understanding of Abilene Christian and the Midland RockHounds as we worked to take advantage of this unique opportunity to play a highly ranked non-conference opponent,” Tadlock saidin a statement.
