Texas Tech already has seen T.J. Holyfield up close.
Now the Red Raiders get a chance to work him into their basketball lineup next season.
Holyfield, a 6-8 grad transfer forward from Stephen F. Austin, announced Saturday that he had picked Tech. While he redshirted last season with an injury, he averaged 12.9 points and 6.4 points in 2017-18 while shooting 54.8 percent from the field for the Southland champions. That season, the Lumberjacks lost to Tech 70-60 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dallas with Holyfield recording 10 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes.
