Texas Tech defensive back Justis Nelson is among 197 nominees on the American Football Coaches Association Good Works team released Tuesday.
The team recognizes players for off-field contributions in the community. Nelson’s includes reading to Lubbock elementary and middle school students.
From the nominees, 22 will be chosen: 11 from the FBS and 11 from the FCS, Division II, Division III and the NAIA.
Nelson, a junior from Dallas Christian, is a returning starter in the Tech secondary.
