Former Texas Tech coaches Pete Cawthon and Jim Carlen and ex-Red Raiders running back Byron Hanspard made this year’s College Football Hall of Fame ballot released Wednesday.
The ballot comprises 75 players and six coaches from the FBS and 95 players and 29 coaches from lower divisions. It was emailed this week to more than 12,000 National Football Foundation members and current Hall of Famers. Their votes are submitted to the NFF’s Honors Courts, which deliberates and selects the class.
The 2017 class will be announced Jan. 6 in Tampa, Florida, three days before the College Football Playoff championship game.
