Texas Tech spent the back half of the football season struggling to achieve the sixth win needed for bowl eligibility. Finally getting that out of the way in game 11, the motivations change for the regular-season finale.
The Red Raiders want to make a good showing on Thanksgiving night against Texas, because most of the college football world will be watching, and they want to end an eight-game losing streak in Austin.
“I think it sets a unique opportunity to play on Thanksgiving night in front of the entire country at a place you haven’t won in a long time,” Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday.
