Texas Tech’s second appearance in three years at the College World Series brought the program another dose of the national spotlight.
That and the threat of losing Tim Tadlock is making the Tech baseball coach a wealthier man.
Tadlock this month received a new six-year, $4.2 million contract, his second new agreement and raise in three months.
Tadlock, 47, will make $700,000 each year through 2022. Tech upped the buyouts in Tadlock’s contract and kept in place clauses — including the university’s stated right to seek a court injunction — to deter him from leaving to coach a conference opponent.
