Texas Tech fans have seen Zach Smith for a year now, but there was something special about his performance Tuesday afternoon at United Supermarkets Arena.
The sophomore forward, once again, showed off his hops (he has a 40-plus-inch vertical) in the Red Raiders’ 85-70 victory over Richmond, but Smith put together a complete game.
“Zach is just a kid that plays with motor,” Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith said. “He’s a guy that can play multiple positions. He’s very active and probably led us in deflections.”
And he did so quietly, even though a pair of jams brought a crowd of 1,365 people to their feet.
