LAWRENCE, Kan. — Texas Tech doesn’t really have a bye week until mid-November.
So, it went out and made itself one.
The offense, especially.
It just didn’t show up in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday.
And the result showed as it narrowly defeated the Jayhawks, 30-20 at Memorial Stadium, needing a late interception from sophomore defensive back Jah’Shawn Johnson to fend off one of the five winless teams in college football.
“I just feel like some people came out flat and expected Kansas not to be into the game because of the way its season’s going right now, and it was the complete opposite,” Texas Tech defensive end Branden Jackson said.
