Texas Tech doesn’t get much of a break during the season.
It didn’t seem like they got one at all this year.
And the 2016 schedule isn’t much better.
The Red Raiders play their entire Big 12 slate without a bye week.
Why?
Texas Tech takes its second bye week in the first week of December so students can concentrate on their final exams.
The university doesn’t like its athletes competing during finals week.
It wants the focus on academics.
On the surface, it seems like a fair and just policy.
