Texas Tech started off its season with a 77-73 win over High Point.
The Red Raiders’ performance in the second half especially showed Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith what they’re capable of.
In multiple preseason rankings of every team in the country, High Point was higher than Texas Tech.
“They were projected to win,” sophomore guard Keenan Evans said. “It’s exciting to see that how poor we did we were still able to win the game. If we were on and making shots and would have jumped on them early, (think about) how much better we would have done.
