Texas Tech men’s golfer Sandy Scott qualified on Wednesday to play in the 2020 U.S. Open. Scott, one of only 7 amateurs in the world (!) to compete in the event, will take part in the 120th playing of the tournament at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY, from September 14th through the 20th. The Scotland native earned this honor by being positioned in the top 7 amateurs in the world rankings this week, coming in at number 6. Other amateurs joining him include, Davis Thompson (University of Georgia) and Chun An Yu (Arizona State University).
