Everything was slipping away from Tubby Smith’s Texas Tech basketball team. Its 10-point lead was gone. Its starting center was gone. Its season appeared to be gone as well.
That’s when Aaron Ross hit the biggest shot of his Texas Tech career, a shot that ultimately led to Texas Tech’s 76-69 win over TCU. With his team down two points and fewer than three minutes to play in Ft. Worth, Ross hit the type of shot that has eluded the Red Raiders during their 4-game Big 12 losing streak.
After catching the inbounds pass from Zach Smith, Ross calmly stepped into a 3-pointer and drained it to give Texas Tech back the lead and seize the momentum of the game for good.
