On the same day that Texas Tech announced Kliff Kingsbury would not be returning for 2019 season, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reported that ex-Red Raiders coach Mike Leach would be open to coming back.
But ESPN's Joel Anderson said when he spoke to Leach, he said he was not interested in a return because he still hasn't been paid for his last season with the Red Raiders in 2009 when they posted an 8-4 record.
According to Anderson, when asked about a return to Texas Tech, Leach said "They didn't pay me last time.
