HOUSTON — Texas Tech rallied for a run in the ninth inning and Ryan Long doubled home two runs in the top of the 10th as the No. 23 Red Raiders beat No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette 5-3 Saturday at the Shriners College Classic.
Tech (6-1) has won five games in a row, the last two against top-10 teams at Minute Maid Park. The Red Raiders will finish their weekend in Houston with a game at 11 a.m. Sunday against Arkansas.
Long’s double down the right-field line scored Eric Gutierrez, who reached on a one-out single, and Zach Davis, who reached on a two-out error.
