Texas Tech continues to party like it’s 1999.
Saturday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park, the Red Raiders won two games over Kansas State to secure their third-straight series win to start Big 12 play for the first time in 17 years.
Throughout the doubleheader, Texas Tech didn’t rely solely one on area of the game.
Instead, the Red Raiders put every phase on display as they combined for 20 runs off 22 hits.
Texas Tech took control of the first game early as a seven-run second inning paved the way for a 10-3 victory.
The Red Raiders strung together six straight hits that inning, the most since recording that many consecutive hits in an inning against Howard Payne in 2004.
