Over Texas Tech’s two exhibition basketball games, the Red Raider bench combined to score 98 points.
Junior forward Aaron Ross had led the charge through those games with 15 points against Concordia and 10 against West Texas A&M.
“That helps us that we have that type of bench play,” coach Tubby Smith said. “It puts a lot of pressure on our opponent because we won’t let up.”
After the game against the Buffaloes, Smith went on to mention how pleased he was with the Red Raiders’ shooting from the perimeter.
Behind senior guard Toddrick Gotcher’s five-for-five mark from the 3-point line, Ross knocked down two-of-three.
