Recruiting report card: How Texas Tech's 2018 class is already looking like one of its best in the last few years

With the early signing period upon us, here's the final part of our four-part series looking back at Texas Tech's past four recruiting classes. Here's a look back at the 2017 class:

Best player in the class

Quarterback Alan Bowman: Thanks to an injury to starter McLane Carter in the season opener, Bowman saw the field much sooner than expected. Before he suffered a partially collapsed lung, he was on pace to lead the Big 12 in passing yards. Bowman appears to have a future as one of the top quarterbacks in the conference.

Most surprising player in the class

Running back Ta'Zhawn Henry: Henry also saw the field sooner than expected because of multiple injuries across the running back depth chart.
