He wasn’t credited with the win or save, but Texas Tech wouldn’t have won Friday’s game without Jose Quezada.
Three innings of no-hit baseball, including three strikeouts and zero walks, are enough to earn today’s Pitcher of the Week honors. Quezada came in to pitch during the sixth inning and faced Oklahoma centerfielder/quarterback Kyler Murray and earned a fielder’s choice. He then got catcher Brady Lindsly to fly out to left field to end the inning.
After that, it was six up and six down for Quezada through the seventh and eighth innings, when Caleb Freeman came in to relieve him.
