KANSAS CITY — There’s nothing else Texas Tech can do.
Except wait.
After putting together the first winning season (19-12) since the 2009-10 campaign, the Red Raiders finished Big 12 play with a 9-9 record, their best in nine years, Texas Tech is hopeful for its first NCAA bid in nearly a decade.
Since the 2010-11 season, six Big 12 teams that finished league play with at least an 8-10 record advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Across the country since 1985, 71 teams that finished with a .500 record advanced to the tournament.
Forty more teams in that time span finished with a losing conference record and received NCAA bids.
