Four years ago this month, DeAndre Washington was helped off the field at Missouri with a torn knee ligament. Then came surgery and a redshirt season.
Now a fifth-year senior, Washington needs 68 yards to achieve his second 1,000-yard rushing season. In 90 years of Red Raiders football, only James Hadnot, James Gray, Bam Morris and Byron Hanspard have done that.
“I think one of the biggest aspects, one of the biggest achievements, is being able to bounce back from that injury, the ACL injury,” Washington said, “and finishing off, I think, a good career here at Texas Tech.
