Oklahoma State powers past Texas Tech

A-J MEDIA

Texas Tech couldn’t find the right combination of pitchers.

At least not one that could replace Corey Taylor.

Taylor, the announced starter, was scratched minutes before the Red Raiders and Oklahoma State’s scheduled first pitch. Instead Texas Tech used five pitchers to try to hold off the Cowboys.

It didn’t work.

Oklahoma State got a pair of homers from Ryan Sluder and Gage Green and defeated the Red Raiders 6-3 on Sunday at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Texas Tech (27-17, 10-8 Big 12) entrenched itself in fourth place in the Big 12 with the loss, while Oklahoma State (29-14, 12-6) moved into first by taking the final two games of the series in Lubbock.
