Typically, I recognize a player who found the end zone multiple times for this award, but there’s something to be said for dependability and Dylan Cantrell was the poster-child for consistency against Baylor.
The senior wideout caught a season-high 11 passes for 94 yards and served as Nic Shimonek’s security blanket throughout the game. At one point in the first quarter, Shimonek completed four consecutive passes to Cantrell, two for first downs. The veteran receiver picked up four first downs during the game.
Shimonek will be relying on Cantrell a lot more to finish out the season against two of the toughest defenses in both the Big 12 Conference and the entire country, TCU and Texas.
