For the first time since March 30, 2012, Texas Tech won in Lawrence.
Behind exceptional defensive play, effective pitching and clutch hitting with runners on base, the Red Raiders defeated Kansas 10-3 Friday night at Hoglund Ball park.
Texas Tech continued its winning ways with freshman Davis Martin on the mound.
The Red Raiders are now 7-0 in Big 12 openers. Martin is 8-0 on the season, and Texas Tech is now 9-0 when he starts.
Martin, through five innings, gave up two runs off five hits with three strikeouts.
Hayden Howard entered in the sixth inning and gave up just one run off four hits through three innings of relief.
