BERKELEY, Calif. — Cory Raley connected on a pair of home runs Saturday afternoon, including a three-run shot in the seventh inning, propelling No. 25 Texas Tech to an 11-8 victory over No. 9 California at a rain-soaked Evans Diamond.
The victory evened the series for the Red Raiders (9-6), who picked their third win over a top-10 team already this season. Tech is now 4-4 this season against ranked opponents.
Raley helped push Tech to an early five-run lead as the senior began the second inning with his first home run of the season. Raley, who came into the day with three career home runs, took a 3-1 pitch the other way for Tech’s fourth home run to lead off an inning this year.
