The No. 7/6 ranked Texas Tech (26-6, 14-5) squad was upset by West Virginia (13-19, 4-15) 79-74 on Thursday night in the Big 12 tournament. The Red Raiders, who defeated the Mountaineers twice this season in conference play, fell to West Virginia and are eliminated from the tournament.
Tech fought to keep its streak alive
The Red Raiders fell behind early on, but managed to keep the ball game interesting in the second half.
With 4:15 left in the game, Tech sophomore guard Davide Moretti sank a 3-pointer to cut the Mountaineers lead to 65-61 after trailing by double-digits, at times -- a sign that the Red Raiders weren't going to give up.
