The Texas Tech women's basketball program has announced that Marlene Stollings will become the new head coach. Stollings had an overall record of 82-47 in her four previous seasons at the University of Minnesota. The team advanced to the 2nd round of NCAA Women's Tournament this season, losing to Oregon.
"I am very proud and honored to be named the head coach at Texas Tech and to be a part of the Big 12 Conference," said Stollings. "Texas Tech has a storied tradition of success and I am eager to return this program to national prominence."
Stollings said the Lady Raiders will play a high-pace style of basketball that she feels will interest both the fans and players.
