An Austin couple attempted to steal over 100 beers from a tailgate party before the Texas-Texas Tech yesterday, which did not go as they planned. According to the Austin Statesman, Jose and Sandra Hernandez tried to swipe the beer by parking their pickup truck next to a party tent, and load the alcohol into the truck while the party was going. Smooth sailing until the party host saw them and took matters into his own hands.
Sandra Hernandez had backed up a pickup to the party’s tent while Jose Hernandez hopped out and began loading beer into the truck’s bed, the affidavit said.
