The last time Taylor Cox suited up and played for Kansas, Katy Perry was atop the charts with her hit song “Roar,” while iOS7 hadn’t been released yet.
It was September 14, 2013, and Cox hadn’t played in a college football since then until last Saturday when Kansas hosted Baylor, exactly 756 days later.
Usually college football players wait a week between games during the season.
Cox had to wait 108 weeks.
After battling back from a pair of injuries, Cox is expected to be the lead running back against Texas Tech this weekend.
The junior college transfer, who played his first season for the Jayhawks in 2012, is currently in his fourth year in Lawrence.
