The scouting report on Texas Tech quarterback Jett Duffey is that he's fully capable of the big play -- and the big mistake. After leading Tech to a touchdown on a well-crafted opening drive Saturday, Duffey had Tech inside the Texas 10 on the next drive. After a bad snap and under pressure, Duffey tried to unload the ball out of bounds. Instead, Texas' Davante Davis intercepted the under-thrown ball along the sideline. Instead of likely falling behind by double figures early, Texas scored the next 17 points to lead 17-10 at halftime.
-- Texas will apparently not have to face standout Iowa State running back David Montgomery in the first half next week.
