After redshirting in 2009 with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, defensive tackle Kerry Hyder had a mediocre season in 2010. However, in 2011, the defensive lineman broke out onto the scene and never looked back.
Hyder recorded 42 tackles, five tackles for loss and recorded 1.5 sacks. In 2012, he had his most impressive season after being named to four postseason All-Big 12 lists.
In 2013, he continued picking up honors and even was named to award watchlists.
Now, the 25-year-old is in the NFL.
Hyder went undrafted in 2014 but was signed by the New York Jets and later by the Detroit Lions' practice squad.
