How Texas Tech RB Da'Leon Ward fell down the depth chart

It's been a strange year for Texas Tech running back Da'Leon Ward.

Prior to the season, he was arrested on a theft charge, which was later dismissed.

With the incident past him, Ward came into the season as Texas Tech's No. 1 running back on the depth chart after rushing for 428 yards in nine games during his freshman season.

After rushing 17 times for 90 yards and two touchdowns in the season-opening loss to Ole Miss, Ward missed the next three games with a nagging groin injury.

Since he returned Ward has rushed nine times for 32 yards against West Virginia and TCU, but didn't play against Kansas on Saturday.
