Zhaire Smith is hearing the same things this week that he heard a year ago and even before that.
NBA experts - like college recruiters before them - are skeptical about whether he's going to be a good enough shooter to survive in an era that stresses 3-point accuracy more than anything else.
That's what they have always thought about the 6-4 Smith from Garland's Lakeview Centennial High School.
Texas Tech found out last season that Smith can shoot the ball just fine - although he didn't do it as often as maybe the Raiders and certainly NBA personnel movers and shakers would have liked to see.
