The Black team, behind steady defense and efficient offense, defeated the Red team 7-1 Tuesday afternoon at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
With two games remaining in the series, the Black team now holds a 2-1 edge over the Red team.
The starting pitchers kept things close as Steven Gingery and Ty Harpenau threw three scoreless innings before Orlando Garcia crushed one in the bottom of the fourth inning.
After Ryan Long singled, Garcia send a high-flying home run over the left field wall to put the Black team on the board first.
Another single by Clay Koelzer and a throwing error by the Red team’s catcher, Michael Berglund, set up a sacrifice fly by Tyler Fowler to give the Black team a 3-0 edge after the fourth.
