Growing Pains: Texas Tech plays tough but falls to Iowa State 76-69

Last year, the youngest team in Texas Tech basketball history learned how difficult life in the Big 12 can be. Last night, despite being a year more mature the Red Raiders proved that they still have some growing to do if they intend to compete with the conference elite.

In the season’s first true road game, Texas Tech fell to No. 13 Iowa State 76-69 dropping to 11-2 on the year. When these two programs met in Ames, Iowa last season, Texas Tech fell by 43 points scoring a season low 35 points in an embarrassing loss so last night’s performance is far easier to swallow for Texas Tech fans.
