For a majority of the season, Steven Gingery is used to starting on the weekend for the Texas Tech baseball.
The left-handed pitcher, who’s accumulated a record of 9-1 while maintaining a 1.69 ERA, has become accustomed to the role and thrived every time he’s been called upon to start Saturday, or another time, this season for the fifth-ranked Red Raiders.
Once again, the Huntington Beach, Calif., native was called upon to turn in a solid performance for top-seeded Texas Tech — this time in a winner’s bracket game against No. 3 seed Sam Houston State in a NCAA Lubbock Regional game.
