For the first time in more than two months, Davis Martin took his place on top of the mound at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
Even with all of the time away, it looked like he was happy to be back home as the Friday starter against Delaware in a NCAA Lubbock Regional.
But an hour-and-a-half lightning and weather delay ensured the sophomore right-handed hurler was pulled from the game in favor of reliever Caleb Kilian who, along with the bullpen, turned into the pitching star.
Kilian, a freshman righty who came on with runners on first and second with one out in the second, needed two pitches to end the threat and, thanks to solid relief work and a highlight play from Josh Jung, the top-seeded and fifth-ranked Texas Tech baseball team earned a 5-2 victory over the Blue Hens.
