Cameron Batson wasn’t always a wide receiver.
He’s gone back and forth between catching passes and throwing them. Going way back, when he first played quarterback, he got pretty adept at calling his own number.
That’s the story Alfonzo McMillian tells anyway.
“He was the quarterback. I played running back,” McMillian said. “I just remember him, every play was quarterback boot. I remember that, and it would be a touchdown.”
Batson and McMillian share a lot of football memories. They can’t remember a time when they weren’t part of each other’s lives.
“Since I was a baby,” Batson said.
