The Texas Tech football team is seeing the commitment train his full speed.
Forney’s Jaylon Hutchings verbally committed Friday to play for the Red Raiders.
Hutchings, a 6-foot, 285-pound defensive end in the Class of 2018, announced his decision on Twitter.
“I’m just happy to be part of the family,” Hutchings said by phone. “I saw Cameron Valentine and John Graves, who visited with me at Texas Tech earlier this month, commit this week. And I thought, ‘Oh snap,’ I need to join in. … There’s some momentum building and big things are coming.”
Hutchings certainly fits the build of an athlete, playing both defensive tackle and running back for the Jackrabbits last season.
